La Fiere

502nd

Axis Victory.

Allied Casualties: *252+
Axis casualties:171
*Includes +25 for destroying manor objective and + 27 leftover from Sainte-Marie-du-Mont

Allied Commander:
2Lt. Ziemann [502nd PIR] [2-H]

To start with, I had 15 men under my command but only 2 of them had leading experience. With this information it seemed logical to split up the team in two two squads. 1st Squad was lead by Drew/Walrhus and 2nd Squad was lead by Scrapper/Martin. These two squads made 1st Platoon as I would call it. I personally lead this platoon through out the realism, as expected.

1st Squad was ordered to capture field 2 then head up to Manor from the back. 2nd Squad was ordered to take haypile field then flank Manor. As soon as it all started I decided to stick with 2nd Squad since I realised they needed to be quick if they were to get to Manor before whole 1st squad. Scrapper gave Martin orders to take 2 men and capture haypile field as me and Scrapper had decided earlier. This whole plan shattered after the pubs in the squad decided to rambo and run straight in to the field where enemy snipers were posted. This eliminated big parts of the squad. After this I took command over the squad. I posted 2 men to cover our moving against Manor using suppresive fire. Me and the squad made it to the intersecton our side of the bridge, right of manor. From there we went left of the small shed and attacked Manor from the same direction as 1st Squad because of MG posted at bridge so going that direction was not an suggestion to be made. We managed to capture Manor and the engineers did there job with the tank.

After this, new orders was made. 1st Squad on left flank and 2nd squad on right. I did not get any reports from 1st squad at this time so what happened there I have no information about. 2nd Squad tried to cross the river but too many casuelties was made on our side so the tickets dropped heavily. At this time I ordered the whole platoon take the fight to the bridge and try to take it. We ran out of tickets while the germans had plus minus 60 tickets. I ordered everyvone to take defensive positions because I knew that if we eliminated the enemy team it would be a draw. The germans started hunting us which made it easy for us to kill them. about 30 germans was killed in about 2 minutes. All I know that after I died by a grenande hiding at a bush left of the bridge, the war was over and the axis had won.

22nd

Axis Victory.
32 Additional Axis Reinforcements are available for Farm Night

Allied Casualties: 150+
Axis casualties: 85

Allied Commander:
Barnaby

The plan was to split up into three teams, one assault team, one support team, and one flanking team. The flanking team would flank to the right while the two other teams would capture the junction. Slow to leave the base, the allies initial line at the ridge was unable to hold and the axis setup watching the spawn exits, locking us into a small area, with two machine gun covered choke points.

Attempts to use smoke cover and advance were unsucessful with many running directly into machine gun fire, or hiding behind hay bales. At the end a last attempt to trade tickets was made in an effort for the campaign as a whole, knowing the battle was lost.

Axis Commander:
Col. Drew [22nd AB]

The invasion of Europe was under way, as we received our orders from Hitler himself. Hold at all cost. Our assignment: defend a small farm community from advancing allied troops.

Assigned to defend the objective were CO Col. Drew, and NCOs Starbounty and Deserat. I assigned my squad of conscripts to cover the far left flank which consisted of a cow pasture and the main road into the town. Starbounty would be responsible for the far right flank, consisting of a farmhouse and hay field. Both squads would help cover the main road.

All of a sudden we hear shots fired by our sentry units, and we quickly set up a firing line along the farm house and cow pasture. The Allies took heavy casualties during the 1st wave as they sent most of their men through the hayfield. With crossfire from the left and right flank, the allies’ first assault wave was quickly denied. The next wave of attack came from both the left and right flanks, but we fought hard for the Reich and repulsed the allies. We lost the left flank for a moment but with reinforcements, were able to take it back without much of a fight. The allied organization seemed to be in shambles after the second wave failed and as we saw their numbers dwindle, I ordered my troops to mop up the rest and declare victory on this fine day. We won a decisive victory without giving up a single objective.

Medals:

Starbounty – Order of the Iron Cross 1st class (Awarded for continuous bravery before the enemy or excellence in commanding troops after being awarded the preceding class of the Iron Cross)

Deserat – Order of the Iron Cross 2nd class (Awarded for bravery before the enemy or excellence in commanding troops.)

Allied Casualties: 191
Axis casualties: 186

Allied Commander:
Poorlaggedman

I split into 3 squads, one for each bridge. One squad of 4 led by Alessio would take the far right flank. Smith's squad would take center bridge. And Barnaby's squad would take the far left. Myself in an NCO slot and another player in a fireteam slot would roam and deploy smokes where needed. My instructions were to report heavy contact and we'd shift to lighter defended areas to secure bridgeheads across.

At the start our left came into heavy contact with Germans on high ground on our side of the bridge. Myself and my smoke partner went up the middle unnopposed and flanked this team helping our leftmost teams to wipe them out. We then began a probing attack of all 3 bridges over the river Merderet. A few local axis counterattacks commenced in the center but the enemy mostly seemed content to sit back and defend the bridges.

All bridges changed hands several times, with notable breakthroughs on the far right and far left bridges. The leftmost was open for a while and I shifted reinforcements to the open bridge whenever possible until we captured the town center, leaving only a small team to cover the rightmost bridges. When that was accomplished most Germans abandoned their positions near river and tried to retake the town center. These counterattacks were repulsed with heavy fighting and all bridges were secured. Smith's squad moved to capture a farm on the outskirts of the town while Alessio's moved down the far right of the map. A few Germans attacked up the road towards the town center but it became clear that the enemy was preparing for a general defense of a massive bunker complex beyond town.

As we slowly probed the defenses, the sky opened up and fire and brimstone rained down. Then I woke up, having suffered from apparent combat stress back in the town center. I reorganized our forces to move out again and was striken again and once more again. I was evacuated with symptoms of a severe neurological disorder affecting my cognitive abilities.

Axis Commander:
Teh Pie

Non-Commissioned Officers: Conway, StarBounty (replaced with CasualTree), “Felix”

The Axis team was divided into four coherent squads with some squads specializing in both MG emplacement and sniper marksmanship. Conway, an NCO that knew the map well, was in charge of an MG team and a sniper team to defend the East Bridge. Felix commanded a Trupp consisting of three other grenadiers, initially holding the center bridge. StarBounty’s squad, a full team with proficient offensive training, was tasked to handle counter-offensive measures. TehPiE’s, as a commandant overviewing the entire battle, carried communication from each squad and took administrative maneuvers. His MG team was set up to cover the central bridge.

Initially, while the MG teams and sniper teams set up to defend the bridge and church, StarBounty team led an offensive to counter attack Allied teams to the West Entrance. As the Germans set-up to a degree of rigidity, StarBounty’s team pulled back to defend the West Bridge. As the fight progressed, East Bridge was first to fall, but quickly retaken during its Allied capture. West Bridge was the first bridge to be secured by the Allied fully. Counter-offensive measures were taken but were ineffective, so the west squads pulled back to the town center. While West Bridge fell, East Bridge and Church teams held off the Allied with ease – only to pull back after town center fell. Once the Church was taken by the Allied forces, an all-out tactical retreat was sounded and all Germans fell back to the bunkers. The MG and Sniper teams set up in various bunkers as the Grenadier fireteams sat in offensive positions along the flanks of the area. The fight stagnated as the Allied forces slowed down their attack. They began to take potshots, and proper retaliation was observed. As the East Side Bunkers held strong, the West Side took the most casualties. The Allied force’s last assault was to break through the west flank, as they were successful but to many casualties. The Germans flexibly maneuvered their line and held the bunkers. In the end, the fight was inconclusive.
