Omaha beach

502nd

Allied Victory.

Allied Casualties: *98
Axis casualties:80
*Includes + 35 reinforcements from capturing objectives

Allied Commander:
Pfc. Scrapper [502nd PIR] [1-1]

Planning Phase: I split the team into two squads, squad A being my squad and squad B being cpl. Speirs squad. it was 7-8 men to a squad and squad A was to suppress the right bunker. Once suppression was established, squad B was to supress the left bunker while the rest of the squad pushed upwards. Engineers on both squad were to blow the doors to the bunkers up and clear them out.

This beach wasn't like the beach I've seen before. We started out in a landing ship, four landing craft in the foggy water. the squads had to be split in the middle to fit everyone into the boats, but we didn't expect the Germans biggest mistake. We hit the beaches, but came under no fire, from the right side at least. All the Germans best defenses were on the left bunker. where half of squad A and B landed. They quickly suppressed the bunker with on-beach machineguns, allowing the right flank time to plant the explosives and clear the bunkers. We captured them with barely any casualties. At this point, organization was futile and the Germans were setting up fast. I had a squad sized number of guys follow me to capture the main road and the other bunker squad was suppressing the German defensive position. After we had finished the cap, one fireteam went to capture the artillery camp whilel I ordered everyone to push the right and left flanks of the mansion. Me and Recruit Martin got into the ground floor of the mansion by ourselves somehow, and I could hear the Germans upstairs yelling about where and how to setup mg's, where riflemen should be, etc. so I could tell they were very scattered. We eventually took the mansion and secured ourselves an allied victory with 287/350 tickets remaining.

Axis Commander:
Pvt. Law [502nd PIR] [2-2]:

We seperated into 2 groups due to the 2 bunkers. For the first 10 mins we held off well but then the left bunker was breached. The allies managed to flank well and confused us causing us to hold the mansion. A lack of communication and teamwork caused the allies to walk in and kill us.

Axis victory.
Half of the 22 surviving Axis carry over to Saint-Come-du-Mont

Allied Casualties: *385+
Axis casualties: 228
*Includes + 35 reinforcements from capturing objectives

Allied Commander:
Sgt. Schmidt [502nd PIR] [1-1]

Planning Phase: We had an abundance of engineers, I thought a mass charge on a single bunker would've been a complete massacre, I designated a minimum of two engineers per squad with a squad leader, depending on their boat. Pfc. Rexton [1-1] was the SL of the top right boat, however nobody wanted to lead the squad in the bottom right boat, so I designated Pfc. Rexton as the SL of both right boats. Their objective was to hit the right bunker as hard as they could. I assigned the bottom left boat to a pubber, and gave him the order to reach the radioman in the middle of the beach. I took the top left boat, thinking I should be at the forefront of the battle if I am to lead these men. When the boats set off, I looked around to the other boats, my boat had set off prematurely and we were speeding towards the beach as the first invaders. When we landed I jumped out of the boat as fast as I could, however with three MG42's trained on our position we didn't last a second, each and every one of us being cut down. The same happened to the other boats. As we kept spawning in open water we found it difficult to proceed as we were being hammered by the MG's, I made sure everybody knew what they were doing, and popped smoke along the beach, hoping to cover their advance. We took heavy casualties on the beach, but thanks to the ferocity of some men, such as Pfc. Wilson, Pfc. Rexton, Pfc. Basic and Pvt. James, we were able to break their defenses on the beach, but not without suffering heavy, heavy casualties.

We were down to about 150 tickets when we reached the main road, the axis hurried to set up a defence such as MG's, but my men had already passed the main bunkers, and were suppressing the pillboxes in which the axis were trying to set up their MG's, we captured the main road with relative ease, and pushed forward, Pfc. Wilson and Pfc. Basic had deterred from the next objective of the manor to capture the German Artillery camp, cutting off a German counterattack. It was due to lack of communication from other players in where we encountered our biggest problem, we tried to organize and co-ordinate a two-pronged assault, but many pubbers charged off on their own, either being killed by landmines or Axis fire, wittling away our tickets for glory and trying to gain individual kills. I gathered as many men as I could, and we assaulted the rear of the manor many times, but were constantly encountering setbacks, being killed by lone, crazed Axis soldiers or being killed by friendly grenades who were unaware, because they did not communicate with us.

But we did managed to twice capture and hold the manor, however the men who survived in their attack could not withstand the full force of the Axis counterattack, and they had all perished by the time reinforcements had arrived, allowing the Axis to set up their defences again. It was all for naught it seemed, we had too many rambo's seeking to eliminate the Axis all on their own, charging off without teammates or cover of smoke, thankfully I had a few men stand by me and we pressed our final assault, I was initally killed by a friendly grenade, and our reinforcement points were gone. Very few survived the blast, the two rangers, who I was hopeful of managed to push back the Axis for some time, but not enough time to capture the Manor, and we lost.

Axis Commander:
Sgt.aek-zach22 [22nd AB EU]

June 6th 1944 As the planning phae begun it was again decided to operate in a 3 squad structure with each squad having 1 mg, 2 riflemen and led by an NCO. The first squad was led by me and it was decided that my squad would defend the left bunker while the 2nd squad led by desrat defended the right bunker and Rec.Thorsten's squad defended the middle road leading up to the bunkers.

As the match started all squads moved to their respective positions, the allied push was delayed though, giving us time to deploy fully. As their assault boats landed on the beach all 3 of our mg's opened up causing heavy casualties and preventing the allies from regrouping and moving forward. After sustaining signficant losses the allied forces deployed snipers which managed to take out our mg's as well as riflemen, this allowed the allies to consolidate their presence at the beach and start attacking the bunkers. At first the allies launched an attack across the whole lenght of the beach, but their attack led to the allied forces sustaining heavy casualties, the allied forces then decided to launch a full scale attack on the right bunker successfully taking out desrat's squad, and blew up the bunker's door, however they failed to take control of the bunker as they were counter-attacked by axis forces. By this point axis forces had sustained a considerable ammount of casualties due to enemy snipers.

The allied forces then assault the left bunker in full force, however they failed to capture it and again sustained heavy losses, they then decided to attack the middle, which dude to lack of cover fell quickly, from then they attacked the left bunker successfully destroying all three doors and capturing the bunkers. After that the order was given to fall back, however certain axis elements were overrun completely, thus allowing the allies to take the main road with relative ease and then the bunker on the hill-top. By this point the axis forces had been routed all the way to the manor sustaining heavy losses.

It was then decided to deploy all squads into the manor and leave the rest of the area to the allies The initial offensive of the allies to the manor was not effective, however another coordinated attack managed to dislodge all axis forces from the manor, however after a successful counter attack the manor was back in axis hands. By this time both sides had sufferred very heavy losses. The allies after consecutive attacks managed to dislodge the axis presence once again in the manor, but they failed once again to hold the manor, thus allowing the axis to retake the manor. More allied attacks failed to dislodge the axis force in the manor and soon after sustaining very heavy losses the allied last ditch flanking attack was successfully stopped thus giving victory to the axis. The match ended with an Axis victory of 20 tickets

Allied Victory.
No Axis reinforcements escape from Omaha beach.

Allied Casualties: *161
Axis casualties: 129
*Includes + 35 reinforcements from capturing objectives

Allied Commander:
Poorlaggedman

I split the team of 19 men into 2 squads. One of riflemen headed by SSgt Smith [2-26] and take the front two landing craft and one of engineers headed by [B.M.O] Sarge (5) taking the back two landing craft. The plan was for the riflemen to focus on calling in a smoke barrage at the radio in the center and the engineers to promptly start clearing objectives so we could move inland. The sooner we accomplished that, the sooner we could move inland and gain a foothold in France. I instructed people to put fire on the bunkers when they were not moving in order to help others moving.

Upon landing we were met by a torential downpour of bullets from MG42s in the concrete bunkers on the high ground and concealed positions outside of them. Most of those in the landing craft were killed when the ramps when down. A lot more had to struggle ashore at a walking pace through waste-high water to the sparse cover of German obstacles on the beach. Bursts of MG fire chased after guys as they ran side to side. A decent amount of fire was returned on the bunkers from the onset of the landing. This allowed SSgt Smith [2-26] to rush up and call in a smoke barrage after a dozen or so were cut down trying to. Here and there, groups managed to move from cover to cover and reach the safety of the beachwall or the base of the bunkers themselves.

Gradually the fire from the bunker slackened as we killed the defenders and captured the bunkers themselves. After about 100 casualties on the beach we accomplished our objectives and pushed the enemy away so we could get even more off of the beach. I had Sarge's squad move right and flank the main road while Smith's attacked the hill objective head on. We killed several enemy in the trenches until Sarge's squad captured the road and their hill defenses crumpled. Sarge's squad then took the artillery encampment before flanking hte manor while Smith's assaulted the manor the Germans were occupying head on. The manro was captured relatively quickly after 2-3 attempts with the help of the backdoor being blown off and a number of grenades being lobbed into the windows.

Axis Commander:
16 Mexicans in a Van

I was sent as Head Platoon Leader handpicked by Erwin Rommel himself to make sure the Allies didn't get past on Omaha Beach. I first had 5 people set up in the left bunker 4 Riflemen and one MG42. There squad leader was MynameisNobody. Then I had [B.M.O] Ricky (4) set up in the middle of the bunkers. He was given a rifleman and a MG42 to set up. From what I saw they did a very good job killing the enemy at the start. Then I had my squad set up in the right bunker. We had Sgt. Conway as our NCO and One MG42 and 3 riflemen.

It was very quiet waiting for the Americans at the start of the round. We didn’t know what to expect. Then out of the Mist of the English Channel we spotted three Higgins boats. As I saw the Gates lower I heard a barrage of gun fire. I began firing as well on the Allies. Almost instantly my MG in the right bunker was killed by stray gunfire. So I began to get worried.

I quickly tried to pick up the slack by looking for the MG on the ground, But It fell to the sand. After around 6 minutes of constant machine gun fire the allies started to really gain a foothold in taking the beachhead. Just then before I knew what hit me we had lost control of the right bunker. I ordered The NCOs to push back around 50 meters to the trenches. And we began charging out of the bunkers. We had a few mgs set up waiting for the Americans but they came on too fast. We lost control of the trenches in around 2 minutes.

We were set up on the bunker overlooking the main road. I quickly tried to contact the other NCOs and find their whereabouts. The main road wasn’t in control of the Germans for long. The Americans where cutting us down like nothing; everyone was so scattered. While we were at manor some people where still at the bunkers. I ordered some Germans to continuously fire the Mortars hoping they would hold back the Americans. But that didn’t stop their Iron Boot of Freedom.

We did what we could. But the Americans where always one step ahead of us.
