Sainte-Marie-du-Mont

502nd

Allied Victory.
27 Allied reinforcements are advanced to Lafiere.
Allied Casualties: 145
Axis casualties:200+

Allied Commander:
Pfc. Scrapper [502nd PIR] [1-1]

Planning Phase: I split the team into 3 squads, the rangers led by cpl. Speirs, and a suppression team comprising of public players whose job was to occupy the Germans attention while my squad flanked the trenches and the rangers flanked to the pond house.

The rangers reached the pond house but were driven out of enemy forces, whilst the suppression team was doing fine. My team and the suppression team with help from the rangers captured the trenches, and promptly captured the pond house shortly after. ticket count at this point was around 120/200.I reorganized squad roles by giving the suppression team, squad C I will refer to them from now on, was given the duty of flanking the corn farm from the right field and the rangers were to go through the left field. Germans advanced both sides and tried to corner us at the pond house but the rangers went to the cider farm as a precaution. My squad, Squad A, was to take up the left field flank and we rushed hard at the German defenses, clearing the house and claiming it. ticket count at this point was around 90/200. Things got tense as the push to the town was started. Squad C proceeded to take up the right flank and Squads A and B (R) were going to the mid left flank. the Germans put up a heavy resistance there but we found ways to setup suppressive mg fire and eventually riflemen to watch the roads in case the Germans tried to push. German tickets were depleted and we then captured the town, securing an Allied victory with 55/200 tickets remaining. Scrapper

The Axis Forces Fought to the end of their Reinforcements, although they lost trenches and pond house quickly but they fought bravely in Corn Farm and Town and they managed to take the Allied reinforcements down to 55 Reinforcements.

Saint-Côme-du-Mont

Draw.
No reinforcements from either side are available to supplement the farm.
Allied Casualties: 200+
Axis casualties: *161+
*Includes 11 Axis reinforcements from action at Omaha beach

Allied Commander:
Col. Drew [22nd AB NA]

As we made our way to the outskirts of St. Come Du Mont, we heard the artillery fire intended for our boys on the beach. We knew we had to hurry and clear the city so we organized our group into a squad and assaulted. Led by Col. Drew of the 22nd AB, we grouped into Alpha squad and Bravo squad and planned for a 2 flank assault on the perimeter of the village. My second in command was T/3 Ranger of the 22nd AB

The assault began with confusion all around as only one fireteam was present to attack the east flank. After the first wave of allied troops failed to take the german-held houses, the 2nd wave managed to blast right through the first set of houses while only taking minimal casualties. The west flank encountered limited resistance in capturing the outlying houses of St. Come Du Mont.

The Germans seemed to pull back at that point and we switched to an all out assault on the west flank, up a street with a steep hill. We were instantly held back by MG and small arms fire from the top of the hill. It was not until we switched our point of attack to the westerly grassy hill; that we managed to break through the hill of death. It seemed like all flanks were well covered after this point and we struggled to take trench and hold it. As the battle raged on, the allies finally managed to silence the snipers long enough to advance into the eastern part of the village.

Objectives switched hands multiple times during this engagement, but the battle was finally called to an end when the Germans retreated through the western part of St. Come Du Mont

Axis Commander:
Sgt. Conway
The battle of Saint Come-du-Mont was a brutal one,Axis and Allies fought to their last man, there was a draw,150 casualties in the Axis team and 200 casualties in the Allies team.

Axis Victory.
Allies gain no additional reinforcements from the action here.
Allied Casualties: 20+
Axis casualties: 15

Allied Commander:
Poorlaggedman

The plan was to use the terrain to our advantage and use a squad with an MG a BAR, and riflemen to cover the wide expanse of open ground beyond the artillery from being used to reinforce the trench network while 2 more squads attacked them.

The MG squad would be led by Alessio with 3 others. While the rest of the team split into 6 and 5 man squads led by my SSgt Smith [2-26] and PFC Corn. Their instructions were to demonstrate against the trenches, avoiding casualties and slowly chip away at the defenders.

I personally guided Alessio's squad into position where we wiped out a German team there and set up the MG on the exposed ground in front of a grove of trees facing the expanse of open ground. However, lots of fire started coming to us from the trenches and we were soon wiped out and had to recapture the position without the desired effect.

Meanwhile Smith and Corn's squads made little progress chiping away at the defenders and the lack of cover on the open ground enabled the Germans to reinforce the trenches, which we were unable to capture or even enter during the engagement.

Axis Commander:
[B.M.O] Ricky (4)

We split up into 4 squads. B.M.O squad was sent to gun 4, Maztons squad went to gun 3, My squad defended gun 1 and 2 while the last squad was spread out in the field and in the western depression behind gun 1.

I barely noticed a large group of Allied enemy troops moving up the northern side, who managed to slip into the western depression where they were flanked and eventually crushed. In the end, we were able to repel any and all allied advancement with ease.
